Jerrel Haugen

Family & Background:

I have been married to my lovely wife Lisa since 1992, and we have three children; Jesse (1994), Anna (1997), and Josiah (1998).  I was a farmer and cattle rancher in North Dakota before the Lord called me to "Comfort My people..." (Isaiah 40) in 2002.  After receiving that call, we enrolled in Talbot (M. Div.), moved to La Mirada, and have enjoyed "grow[ing] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" and in how to shepherd His people.  I currently work full-time for the Biola Power Plant and attend Talbot part-time.

Education & Experience:

Education: Received a B.S. in Animal Science (Minor in Agricultural Economics) from North Dakota State University, Masters in Divinity (Evangelism and Discipleship emphasis) currently in process at Talbot.  I have had the privilege of being involved in teaching youth and adult sunday school, baptism classes, preaching, and have been a member of Grace and lead our Grace Group since 2004.

Long-term prayer requests:

Pray for grace and wisdom to make wise choices as we seek to find balance among our various responsibilities as a family.  May we truly do all things for the glory of our great God.

Pray that I would be intentional to pursue my wife and prioritize her in practical ways as my most important relationship after Christ.

Pray for our children to grow in their relationships with Christ, and to make choices that are faithful to Him.

One Thing You Love:

Singing praises to our Lord in general, but especially in an a capella ensemble.

One Thing You Hate:

A lazy work ethic that fails to reflect the designed dignity given to work by our Creator God as recorded in Genesis 2:15.
