Sonny Massey

Family & Background:

I am the only son in a family of six siblings. I came to know Christ through a Youth for Christ rally in India. Eventually, I joined the staff of Youth for Christ and was working as the national vice president in India when I came to the US with my family. I was married to my late wife, Myrtle, for 27 years, and I have one son, Philip, who works for Southern California Edison and teaches accounting part-time at Biola.

Education & Experience:

I studied at Talbot Seminary, where I earned M.Div. and Th.M. degrees. I have been on the elder board at Grace for 7 years and head  the missions committee. I have led teams from Grace on short-term  missions trips to India. I also spent 30 years working for Bank of  America, from which I retired in 2008.

Long-term prayer requests:

  • The evangelization of north  India.
  • The establishment of strong Bible-teaching churches throughout India.
  • That God would make Grace a body that impacts the world for Christ.
