Rick & Melanie Floyd
Rick and Melanie Floyd serve with Wycliffe. They have just returned from the Quechua people group in Peru after having finished translating the entire New Testament into the Quechua language.
Now they are back in the states, but they are committed to several projects in Peru, and Wycliffe has Rick teaching linguistics at Biola for the semester. They and their three sons, Ryan, Erik, and Lucas, are all involved here at Grace with us.

Please Pray:
- Ric is in demand as a speaker in different places. Pray that God would minister to their family as often as Ric is away from home.
- Rick continues to consult on various Bible translation projects. Currently he is working long distance over Skype with the Wanca Quechua Team on Genesis. (These are the same great guys who worked with us on the New Testament.) In June/July we'll travel to Peru and spend a week working face to face with them, trying to tackle a number of projects in a very limited amount of time.
- During this time we will also travel to the jungle where Rick will consult for 3 weeks with translation teams from two Amazonian languages, one working on Old Testament, and the other on the New Testament. Pray that the month spent in Peru with all these national translation teams is profitable for bringing the word of God closer to completion in their heart languages.
- Teaching is one of roles we now have. We have been asked to go to south Asia in August to teach basic translation principles to around 20 mother tongue translators from half a dozen languages. This will be the first time to utilize our South American experiences with Asian co-translators. Rick needs insight to make his teaching culturally relevant with appropriate examples; it will also be his first time to teach using an interpreter.
