Adult Bible Study
In Adult Bible Study (ABS), the Word of God is read, taught, and discussed so that we can grow in the discipline and instruction of our Lord.
Adult Bible Study meets on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in upstairs room 204.
Spring & Summer 2019 with Adult Bible Study
Consider yourself invited to our upcoming classes in Adult Bible Study. ABS seeks to learn and follow God’s word to build up the people at Grace to maturity, to the glory of our sovereign King. And to that end we have an exciting line up for Spring and Summer.
Ecclesiastes – Life lived under the Sun
April 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19
What if this life was all there is? Just 80–90 years and then death. The Preacher, we assume Solomon, ruminates about the vanity of a life lived like this; a life lived only under the sun. C.S. Lewis wrote about Ecclesiastes: “We there get a clear, cold picture of man’s life without God. That statement is itself part of God’s word. We need to have heard it. Even to have assimilated Ecclesiastes and no other book in the Bible would be to have advanced further towards the truth than some men do.”
We will learn through the Preacher while examining all things in light of the good news of Jesus Christ.
The Psalms of Asaph in 12 Weeks
Starting June 2
We studied through the Psalms of the Sons of Korah a few summers ago and this summer we move to the Psalms of Asaph. Each week, will be one of the 12 Psalms and a different teacher, providing the basics of each Psalm and learning what Asaph and his sons have to say about the majesty, judgment and kindness of God. It will be enlightening, edifying and encouraging as we learn and discuss the scriptures together.
Adult Bible Study strives to build up the body of Christ by encouraging continual growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Open to adults of all ages, we get to know one another, study the word together, discuss the implications of what we learn and seek to encourage one another as disciples of Jesus.
We study through scripture and through the occasional book that biblically cover topics relevant to the people of Grace.
